New York Comic Con took place this past weekend. While it’s not nearly as big as the San Diego Comic-Con, a lot of news still came out of New York Comic Con. Here are some highlights from the weekend.
- Daredevil: Marvel was in New York showing off footage from its first Netflix series Daredevil. Coverage of the panel revealed that the series has a darker tone, made possible because it’s on Netflix instead of network television. Series star, Charlie Cox, also said that it’s more like a 13-hour movie instead of a normal television series. I’ll have to find 13 hours next May in between watching Tomorrowland and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
- Avengers: Age of Ultron: Speaking of Earth’s Greatest Heroes, Marvel also showed off Avengers: Age of Ultron. There wasn’t a full panel, but Marvel had a trailer. The description of the trailer sounds a lot like the one from SDCC, full of Avengers, Ultron and the Hulkbuster Iron Man armor. According to reports the trailer is pretty polished and should be in theaters soon. There are rumors that the trailer will run in front of Interstellar, not that I needed another reason to see Christopher Nolan’s latest.
- Big Hero 6: Disney got in on the action and shared a new trailer for its latest animated feature. Based off of the Marvel Comic Big Hero 6, the movie of the same name is set to release in a few weeks. I’ve already been looking forward to Big Hero 6 and each subsequent trailer gets me more and more excited. I can’t wait to finally see Baymax in action: big, cuddly action.

Along with the trailer from Tomorrowland, NYCC had plenty to get our nerd juices flowing. We have to temper our excitement, though, as May is still seven months away.
